Dr Ann Higgins is a Co- Pastor of Creative Christian Arts Ministries International. Dr. Ann Peterson-Higgins has been working in the area of the performing Arts for over forthy (40) years. She started dancing at the age of 15 while in high school. Her work experience started in 1975 in Freeport, Grand Bahama at the El Casino Kasbah. She has performed in six major productions from 1975 – 1983 as Lead Dancer and Line Captain. On February 10th, 1985 the greatest event in Ann’s life took place, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. As a result of her new Life in Christ, Ann began to turn her talents, gifts and abilities over to God. She then started a new career as an Exercise Instructor working in several well known Health Spas in Nassau Bahamas. Ann then became very popular in this area through her Television Program Exercising By Faith.
Dr. Higgins started a dance school in 1987 Exercise by Faith, Fitness and Dance Studio, the first Christian Dance Studio in the Bahamas. Hundreds of children continue to pass through the doors of that school. Over 85 Dance Leaders from difference demonations are now leading and teaching others in Church. A Christian Dance Fellowship was also formed by Dr. Higgins. She was Co-ordinator of Christian Dance Fellowship Bahamas (CDFB) and a member of the International Christian Dance Fellowship (ICDF). Dr. Higgins along with her husband Henry, are the co-ordinators of Caribbean Christian Dance Network (CCDN) a conference that draws dancers from around the world together every year. Dr. Higgins has written two books Born to Dance and The Purpose of the Dance.
Dr. Higgins is very influential in her community and has a great impact on the lives of many young men and women. Ann along with her husband Henry have established four (4) Community Centers in the Urban areas in their country, that provides homework assistance and a reading program for the children. She has pioneer Liturgical Dance in her country being the first to introduce such form of Art. She is employed with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture as Special Project Officer and Co-ordinator for Liturgical Dance in the Country. She assists as the choreographer for great events such as the Independence Celebrations and the Bahamas Olympic Games and other Special Events. She served as a Dance Leader for Bahamas Faith Ministries International for 19 years; the Pastor is Dr. Myles Monroe.
Dr. Higgins is a graduate of Friends International Christian University, where she received a B.A. Degree in Religious Dance , M.A. in Religious Dance and a Doctorate in Ministry.
She has travelled throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, China, the USA and the Caribbean. Dr. Higgins and her husband are Founders of Creative Christian Arts Ministries International and Directors of the Bahamas National Liturgical Dancer School and Company. They are the proud parents of seven (7) children; five (5) boys and two (2) girls and Twelve (12) grand children. Their goal is to continually bring souls into the Kingdom of God through the Creative Arts.
